About BISTU

Beijing Information Science & Technology University (BISTU) is a public university providing both full-time and continuing education to approximately 15,000 students from China and abroad. With the approval of Ministry of Education, Beijing Information Science and Technology University (BISTU) was established with the combination of Beijing Machinery Industry Institute and Beijing Information Engineering College, which are two full-time schools of higher education.

The school takes engineering and management disciplines as its mainstay, developing coordinately with Science, Economics, Arts and Law, with the main purpose to foster pratical professionals of high quality. Enjoying the firm support of the Beijing Municipal Government, we are now on a mission to educate students to become decent, hardworking people with remarkable practical skills to serve society.

Taking “Diligence in learning, honor for life” as the university motto, we encourage all at BISTU to uphold the spirit of “seizing every opportunity and overcoming every difficulty to rise to the challenge of ever being the best”. As a firm proponent of an appropriate educational philosophy, we are very clear about our overriding objective and defined role, and keep developing our unique strengths as a higher education establishment. Through the collective effort made by the staff and student body, BISTU is speeding up its infrastructural development and pushing for sweeping reforms to ensure steady growth. Over the years, the university has made significant progress in terms of teaching quality as well as improvement of infrastructure and growth of our student body. BISTU achieved excellent assessment of undergraduate education, and became the key construction university of Beijing.

Looking ahead, we aim to create and sustain a university that will enjoy greater prestige in the fields of electronic information, modern manufacturing, mechatronics, knowledge management, and technological economics, etc. We will remain in the front ranks of local institutions in Beijing and will strive for a top spot among national universities of the same tier at the earliest possible time.
